My Names Is Donna,

I came from a big family of 10 children, 6 boys and 4 girls. We were always taught of the importance of family and the need to stay closely bonded together. We were brought up by our parents as Roman Catholics and were faithful church goers. Unfortunately I did not have a personal relationship with God. I did not know of His grace, His everlasting love and His ability to forgive even the worst of us. In fact, at times, I doubted that God even existed.

One day, someone witnessed to my big sister and invited her to visit their church to learn more about Jesus and his Sovereignty. Surely that night, my sister got saved. This was something that was new to us because we did not understand what it meant. My sister then started taking us, (myself and other siblings) to church with her because she wanted us to have that life changing experience she received when she committed her life to Jesus and told us on many occasions that she would not leave us behind. This made my dad very angry but somehow he allowed it because he saw a significant change in my sister. I saw my other sisters get saved and turn their lives around but I resisted because I chose to hang out with my brothers to live a life in the world, partying, with no regard for tomorrow.

I then got married and continued partying and living in sin until there came a point where I became empty. I could no longer find happiness in the things of this world. I wanted security and peace of mind. I started praying and asking God to help me because I was so unhappy. I later found that resting place in the arms of my Saviour Jesus Christ. I knew that I needed to find myself among others who can give me support and guidance on my new journey and I received that when I walked into the House of God.

When I got saved, it did not make me exempt from testing and trials. At one point, the trials kept on coming and I felt that I was under continuous attack of the enemy over issues on the job and in my health. But I thank God for those who encouraged and helped me to overcome. God has shown Himself to me in so many ways that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is real.

It’s  a place of prayer and praise, a place where any one from any background can come. They have a firm foundation of biblical theology and a characteristic of a loving family. They have come to help people to be saved, they lift men up to preach and plant churches which many people have done with great effect. A church where souls are saved!!!

I go to the Potters House, because the Word of God is preached and it is testing in all ways, it is where God is moulding and shaping my life, it’s a place where men are challenged to be men and raised to be disciples, it is a place where the great commission by God is being filled, Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

1st of all its a church that feeds me and not tells me. There’s a true presence of God and the pastor cares for His church. We are all a part of the Body of Christ from the pastor to the cleaner to musician to the faithful member, we are all 1 in Christ. The Sunday school teaches my boys who love to tell their dad who’s not yet a Christian. And most importantly ever since I’ve been coming it teaches from the Word of God.

I started going to the potters house to find out what it was all about and wow it felt different and I ended up getting becoming a Christian on first night!

Seriously…I find it a joy to follow Jesus with the Potters House, so many amazing testimonies of changed lives.

Why? – The teaching is excellent, 100 % bible based. It’s like one big family and it’s almost impossible NOT to grow and move forward in God.
